re-activate from 8 to 8.1?
I have Capture one version 8.0.1.19 on my 15" Retina Macbook pro. When I launched it today, Capture one prompted my to download a new version (8.1.1.20) which I did.
I was surprised that the new version then wanted me to activate it. This is not how it used to be, if I recall correctly. I went to activate and used the same way that I have on previous occasions where one enters their email and other info and the software retrieves the serial. Well, in this case the activation box allows me to enter exactly one character before all turns grey and I have to cancel out.
I have activated C1 v8 on only this machine and have a concern that re-activating the update will eat up my second activations seat, so wanted to check on that and to see if this approach of having to re-activate the updates is the new normal.
The second question I have is; if I do re-activate do I lose the ability to run the older version? I have had times when C1 over the years just simply works as it should and my life is smooth and happy. On other occasions I have had problems, sometimes due to a new version, sometimes due to an update and so I find it important, before I do take a plunge to the update to be able to use the stable (for me) older version. If re-registering disables version 8.0.1 ... well then never mind. 😊 I will stick to what works until ...say .... 2018 or so. Updates are great. Russian roulette less so.
So, does anyone have any idea of what is up with this re-activation business? Thanks!

You shouldn't have to re-activate manually.
Raise a support ticket and they'll have this sorted out in no time.0
