White Point & Black Point
Alright...this may be a dumb question, but I can't figure out how to do it. So here I am.
In Photoshop, I can use the white point eyedropper from a curve and click on a white area in the image. This then adjusts the highlight end point for each individual red, green, & blue curve to a specific value that's been preset...for example 250/250/250. (This preset is set by double-clicking the white point eyedropper.) Likewise, this feature also holds true for the black point eyedropper, which will move the shadow end point for each individual color curve to a specific value that's been preset...for example 5/5/5. This in effect neutralizes the shadows and highlights. For example, what once was 253/245/251 is now 250/250/250 and what was 2/4/1 is now 5/5/5.
How can this be accomplished in C1? I don't see any eyedroppers in the curves panel to do this. Also, using the Black Point and White Point eyedroppers in the Levels panel simply moves the RGB Input points but not the individual red, green, & blue level inputs.
So is there a way to do this?
I guess this could be accomplished manually by adjusting the individual red, green, & blue levels endpoints. But I haven't found a way to put a Sample Marker on an area of the image (as can be done in Photoshop) so that I can monitor the RGB values while I'm adjusting the levels endpoints. Does C1 have a feature where a Sample Marker can be placed in the image?

Just for conversation purposes, do you think it odd that I'm unable to place a color sample marker in the image? If I'm to use Capture One for color correction, how do I accurately measure one specific spot, especially while adjusting some control? It's not like I can leave my mouse at a spot in the image while simultaneously adjusting a control or series of controls.
I would like to suggest that this feature be added in a future release. I'm using color sample markers in Photoshop all the time and would love to have them in Capture One as well.0 -
Maybe a nice to have feature; you could do a request in a support case. For myself, I have used color samples in Photoshop in the past to remove a color cast, but have not done so for some time. 0
