Masking disappears

I uppdated Phase One Pro with latest uppdate ( 7.2.1. ), after uppdating masking worked 45 minutes, then stopped again. I can draw part of Picture red, if I tryt to make marked area lighter or darker, whole picture will change darker and lighter. Masking stopped when I used several layers on same picture.

Now I see Gradient Mask don't work either, I can draw a line, to make sky darker will make whole picture darker.

I have GT 440, windows 7 64 bit, 7i processor 16 GB RAM.

Have you any information how to make these work again, jouni

  Please check whether you use the tools on the Adjustments Layer tool tab. These tools affect the selected layer. If you, for instance use the Exposure tool from the Exposure tool tab, it will always affect the background layer, that is the entire image.

  I clicked in Exposure: Adjust selected layer, it works now, was this what you ment ? Or did you mean other solution ?
  
  Other question is, can I correct barrrel distortion for Canon wide angle zooms on PO Pro ?
  
  How much retush there is in PO Pro ? Can I take away dust and ctrach ?
  
  I ask this because I am near the point, I don't need Photoshop.
