    there is different
    1. Capture Date commes from EXFI written by Camera you cant change it !
    only with EXFI Editor.
    2. Create Date comme from system is you import or convert data to auther format
written in the IPTC or XMP file
    3. Modified Date if you make changes to same format in C1 or MP also written in IPTC or XMP files

you can have controll on all if you change your filter option.

    sorting ! in MP

Why does MP ignore the capture date from the EXIF data. And what date is the date finder using?

I believe it uses the IPTC annotation field "Event Date" (if you're using Phase One field names) or "Capture Date" (if you're using IPTC field names). You can edit that field manually or you can use a script to "bulk enter" image file capture dates into that field for any number of images. Select the desired images in list or thumbnail view, then select Scripts > Annotate > IPTC Date from Capture Date.

I use that script for all newly imported images.

@syncrasy Thank-you. I think that also illuminated a problem with PhotoMechanic too.
