You don't need to save files in Capture One. All your adjustments are saved instantly, without touching your original files. To get a JPEG or TIFF with your adjustments, you need to process the image. You cannot save the adjustments to the raw file (.NEF in your case).

    Hello
I realize this is an old thread, but kind of the same problem here ...
I haven't used C1 for along time and just upgraded from C1 v3 to v5. I'll try to use it instead of DxO (not good on my 7D files) and DPP (kind of clumsy interface) but good processing.

How do I make C1 (not pro) save the output file (jpg/tiff whatever) automatically in the same folder as the original raw file (cr2) ???
Right now it seems to me that I need to select the desired output folder everytime I'm processing a file which I find seriously annoying and time consuming

    Regards Rune 😊

I'm not sure if this is true for the non pro version, but in the pro you can go to the Process Recipe, Advanced tab, and set the Root Folder to "Image Folder." You can also name the subfolder.

    Thanks,
but I can't find any advanced tab when opening up the prosess recipe, neither do I find any option of setting root folder in the output to window

Could be as You say in the Pro only 😭

I want this to be done automatically....

The Advanced tab in the Process Recipe is a Pro (and DB) only feature. I am sorry. I am not aware of another way to accomplish the requested task in CO5 regular release.
