New Catalogue not writable

    Very strange; I was able to create a new writable catalogue on my computer hard disk - but not on my external drive as I have always done... Anyone have a clue what is going on ?

    Check you have permissions, I've had similar and had to reset access to the disk by,

    Select the disk, then choose File > Get Info.
    Click the disclosure triangle next to Sharing & Permissions to expand that section.
    If necessary, click the lock icon , then enter an administrator name and password.
    Select the “Ignore ownership on this volume†checkbox.

    Thank you, this did indeed do the trick... I have no idea how the permission was changed (no one has access to my external drive - at least I think so ! 🙄
