I have had a few quirks with CO8 also.

Background, My normal flow is rate all pictures, adjust rated pictures, then one at a time process and open in photoshop for final touch up. After finished all photoshop edits, import tiffs back in to CO8. (I so wish I did not have to do this step.)

One time, I started up CO8, to do some more processing and editing in photoshop. Hit the process button, image process, when photoshop opened the picture was B&W. Not how it showed in CO8, nice and in color. Deleted the file, tried again, still B&W. Turned on B&W mixer, then turned it off, still B&W. Restarted CO8, and everything was good. I know it was not PhotoShop, as the RGB historgram was the same, and opening the picture in Preview showed B&W also. The output Process was set to 16Bit TIFF, Prophoto color space, and not watermark.

Did not create a Support Case as it fixed itself with a restart of the program.

Thanks for the reply. I have restarted the program and i have also tried it with different images shot with different cameras & over different time periods. The software has now just been reinstalled and I have still have the same problem!!

Do you have a AMD/ATI gpu and run 10.10 ?

The problem has disappeared when I switched off the Hardware Acceleration for processing. This has been on for the past few weeks but it has only started to cause a problem today. I am using a IMac with 2.93 GHz Intel Core processor i7 and the graphics is an ATI Radeon HD 5750 1024 MB. My 15" MacBook Pro Retina still has the acceleration switched on and I have created TIFF's for the same images on it today without any of the 'noise' issues. It has an NVIDIA GeForce graphics card.

I am having a similar experience. Yesterday I used 8.0.1.19 under 10.9.5 and processed color Tiffs as expected.
Last night I installed Yosemite 10.10.1 and processed the same images which then came out very magenta with random color pixels all over. Disabling the hardware acceleration solved the issue. Running a 2013 Mac Pro with AMD FirePro D500.

This is Yosemite and OpenCL conflicts.
We hope to address this when we support Yosemite... soon.
