Color management/workflow/printing question
Aloha, need some advise and direction.
I have a 20D and Epson R1800 w/InkJetFly CIS.
My monitor and printer are profiled via Spyder3.
I need the recommended settings for the color management settings. The problem is this: If I choose 20d for my camera, and I have 2 profiles made by ETC, a Hi Sat and a Low sat for the 20D. If I input this, instead of the generic 20D profile, and choose sRGB for working space, what should I use for processing the images, convert to destination or embed camera profile?
Here has been the problem - I have been using 20D, ETC Low Sat, sRGB and convert to destination for my images. The images look great on screen. When I go to print them with the profile I have created using the Spyder3, no matter what paper, the resulting prints are way over saturated and dark. If I print the same file not converted by Capture one, the colors are spot on to the monitor. In fact, any files not converted by Capture One print spot on as far as colors go.
I don't understand what Capture One is embedding in the file to make the colors so oversaturated. Is it the convert to destination setting? If someone could help me understand this, I would appreciate it. It has taken me some time to figure out that it was something that Capture One was doing to the file to "mess" things up for the prints, but I don't know what are the correct settings and what effect they have on the resulting file for printing. I do realize that it has been the settings that I have chosen in Capture One, and not the program itself.
Thanks

I did notice that my in camera (20D) settings were set on Saturation +2, but this should have no effect on Raw files. After changing the saturation to 0, .jpg's print perfect.
I have changed my 20D to RGB instead of sRGB.
Any comments would be appreciated.0
