Best option here is to create a tech support case (via the link in my profile) and send us your log files, which can be generated via the Scripts > Get Logs option.

    Works here without any problems.
Can you please describe exactly how do you create oder change your Filter settings?

Have you tried to close C1 and reboot your Mac?

Yes rebooted Mac. Rolled back to the previous version too and have same issues.
I just checked CP1 (v11.0.1) on Windows 10 desktop and there is NO problem. Smart filters by date work perfectly.

I am wondering if it is a catalog problem since it is okay on Windows 10 which is an older catalog file on a completely different hard drive.

Do you know of any way to rebuild that catalog?

This is what I am doing:

    1) Click the arrow and select "Smart Album"
    2) Match is set to "All"
    3) Click + to Add Search Criteria
    4) Select "Date - Year" from first drop-down
    5) Select "is on" from next drop down
    6) Type "2017" in text-field
    7) Click "OK"

I check it and photos from the previous year are displaying, so I right-click on the "Smart Album" name and select "edit". The year has changed on me. It took the year I typed in Step 6 above and subtracted a year.

    Weird right?

Do you now use the Windows catalog under OSX? There has to be repaired first because Phase One........ fails to bring 100% equal versions for Windows and OSX

    Try to repair catalog.

Like I said, I don't have a problem with that. I have several smartalbums that have year as a condition.

But you write it's working. I don't understand that

    Thank you for your response.

That is a very good point that you make between Mac and Windows. I did say that it worked on Windows CP1 and not Mac CP1. To your point, I copied the CP1 catalog files from the PC to the Mac via an external hard drive and am running them from the same external drive. I did "verify" the catalog but it said everything was okay. Is there an explicit "repair catalog" option? I have also noticed duplicates where the thumbnail is a ? (question-mark) but when I look in the file-system it's not missing. My catalog DB is probably messed up from moving operating systems.

I think my next step will be to create a new catalog file using the Mac OS version of CP1 and adding the directory structure back in the new catalog and see if the problem persists. I bet that you solved my problem. Thank you.

    ** UPDATE
It sort of solved my problem. Creating a new Mac OS catalog cleanup up the duplicate/phantom thumbnails but the Smart Album by Year still has strange behavior. The Smart Album will work correctly, however, upon editing the Smart Album will roll the year back 1 year in the text-field. This is consistent. (example: I will set the year criteria as "2017" on the creation and then close the properties box and then right-click the smart album name to edit the smart album properties and the field will read "2016" instead.)

very interesting. All my catalogs I created under Windows needed repair under OSX. Catalog created under OSX don't need be repair under Windows.

I'm testing it on my Mac today.
