my final aim is to have the session file and sub-folders (output, trash...) inside the already existing folders structure. How do you suggest to proceed?

    File>New Session
Session Name = Same name as the folder containing your RAW files
Location = Parent folder of folder containing your RAW files

This simply puts the Session file, Capture, Output, Selects and Trash folder within your already existing folder of RAW images.

No. If you read the question of mcphoto, before Drew answered, you'll notice that the starting point was that these folders already existed and are now 'transferred' into session folders.
