Hmm, strange. Not able to reproduce this. More strange since you had this in 3.x as well. When selecting a pre-set WB like Daylight, Shade, Cloudy, the Kelvin slider moves, the Tint slider goes to the zero position, colors become warmer/colder according to the Kelvin slider's position.

Well, I would say the temperatures are just about right, but when the tint goes to zero, that's the problem. And zero is almost always too green with my camera.

In Lightroom, and various other software I've used, the tint typically doesn't go to zero when using a preset; it usually has a value of its own as well...

Please note that a value for either the Kelvin or the Tint slider is a relative value. You can not compare the value between raw converters (you can of course, but that value is arbitrary, not calibrated against anything). However, you can compare colors on screen (or print) between raw converters.

I had no idea it was relative; that's definitely good to know!

I usually end up tweaking the WB anyway manually, but it's nice to have a general area with which to start.... and for some jobs, it would be nice to just be able to batch them out.

Thanks for your help. I'll post a couple of images using presets to show you what I mean, so you, at least, don't think I'm crazy!

No, you don't even come close, though you're making progress! 😂
I will see your pictures coming.
