Impressed with B&W conversion
I've only been using Capture One for a short while (a month or so) and have recently been working with creating B&W versions of some of my images where there's a lot of blue sky.
If I send an image to Photoshop CC and use Silver Efex Pro the sky (quite often) gets 'banding' across it and doesn't look right.
Using Capture One I can get the same effect as Silver Efec Pro but without the banding.
I'm so impressed... 😊

Agreed. I tend to think Capture One Pro 8.n sets the standard for monochrome conversions. And you know what makes it so much more clever? No need to ship-out a TIFF to PS / Nik! Monochrome working in C1P is a big USP, in my book. 😄 0 -
So am I.
Even with scanned B & W negatives converted in Styles -> Color Effects Inverse1 and turned Black & White Tool on. Amazing clarity and tonal values.

I am also impressed, especially with the recent improvements.
But I must relate an amusing incident:
I had a very successful picture of a very typically French street corner at night. I did a B&W conversion on it and it looked just perfect. I sent it to a friend for comment ... and they returned it with a comment that " it was very well composed, but rather grainy ... so I have applied some noise reducing software to it ... I am attaching the corrected version" ... duhhh0
