It looks like 8.1.1 now offers the option pre-defined in the Advanced Search facility.
Open the Search
Search Criteria section of the window. In the first box click on the up/down arrows. Scroll to Keyword and let that be selected.
The default setting will be "Contains" and the selection box will be empty. Variants without keywords will appear in the browser window.
Or at least that's is no how it works installed on my machine and using sessions.
HTH.

Spot on Grant. I'm building a catalogue and have 10k or so images imported so far, taking it easy to start with. Certain images appeared to be missing and behold, they are imported, just missing the keywords for some reason.
Thanks for the solution,

Hi Lyndon,
I think this must be a recent update. Functionality in earlier V8 releases was a bit marginal in this particular area of absent keywords so I was surprised to find this today after seeing your post and wondering .... I don't recall a specific mention in the release notes.
I have to say that what has appeared seems to work very well.
My thanks to the development guys.

In my view CP1 is now a serious Lightroom contender , which I have used for many years. The DAM aspects were C1P's downfall along with V7's instability and incapacity to interface with PS. Both issues are now pretty much fixed.
One issue that I still have with C1P is that you can't purge unwanted/unused Keywords. This can have consequences when a tree needs to be expanded and auto fill-in is used [for the new Keyword]. However the good people in support have taken this on and suggested as a possible update inclusion to the programmers.
I'll still use Lightroom for in-house printing as it excels in this area but for everything else, C1P. It fits my workflow really well now for Landscape/Wildlife photography.
Now have >20K images in the CP1 DB, all catalogued and Keywords applied, no issues. Seems very stable and quick to respond.
Just my view.
