Every now and then the icon showing that the image has been processed, disappears .
Why???

makes it difficult to go back and continue working on the pics.

  Indeed it does seem to do that. Sometimes it does not appear at all on my system.
  
  However I'm not really sure how useful it is beyond the point of initial (or recent) output processing. Especially if one is working with several variants of the image.
  
  What would be your use case and feature list for a more complete and useful historical record of output processing? How often would it be useful for your needs?
  
  I suspect for Pro use in many cases it would not mean much. One edits, outputs, delivers. The shoot project is completed. The work is archived. It probably does not matter whether there is a record of those activities even if for some reason one returns to some of the images later.
  
  However it would be interesting to hear of a different perspective for potential use.
