Change the name of the profile to start with the camera name:

In my case: LeicaM8-BW panchromatic.icm etc

Then they will appear in the list under your camera and stick. I am on XP so don't know about Vista.

hold everything - this just happened to me and i am NOT happy about it.

    1. the black and white conversions did not get loaded
    - i'm supposed to change the profile to start with my camera name? canon10d panchromatic?

    2. what about exposure corrections already done?

    3. the cropping hasn't been saved.

    4. most importantly, can i recover any of the settings that i made or am i completely screwed?

    windows xp, version 4.0.1.xxxxxx

    thank you

ps i'm utterly in shock! is it something i did wrong or what? do you need to commit settings or something per image before you close out?

EDIT: This is completely unacceptable! This is so bad, this is so unbelievable that they would have a product that would F#@$ you like this. There is NOTHING that can compare to this - loosing the development of a photograph.

This is still happening to me, I've tried changing the name of the profile to my camera (1ds mark 3) but it still looses all the bw conversions, unless it's just a de-saturated image. This is making the software utterly useless to me as it's supposed to save me time not increase it.

This is a known bug in CO 4.0.1, which still might exist in 4.1.1 but I am not sure, don't have it here and I am on low bandwidth currently so can't download. Make sure you remove the old 4.x version before you update.

Fortunately, the solution or workaround is fairly simple and documented here earlier. See:
    http://forum.phaseone.com/viewtopic.php?p=21558#21558
for details. In short, the "&" character in the profiles file name is the culprit. Just remove the character and restart CO4. Not sure whether this brings back B&W settings done before.

wfrenzel thank you for your post about taking the '&' character out of the profile name. It has worked an now loads the bw conversions fine on re-starting c1.
It hasn't brought back old conversions but I will now be able to use phase one as a worflow again. Thanks again

thanks. i sure as heck hope it has only to do with this and it's not a random thing that could creep up at any other time like with any standard icc conversions. i think i'll leave any special processing/b&w conversions to lightzone.
