Multiple catalog backups
CO is creating a new backup file every time it backs up so after a while there is a huge amount of disk space consumed in the backups folder by these multiple back ups. Is there any limit to this? Is the only way to limit the disc space consumption to manually trash older backups? What do other users do about this?

There is no setting to delete old backups. I clean up manually. 0 -
On the windows version, in addition to creating the backups to the location specified in the Preferences dialog, Capture One also creates numbered backups in the same folder as the catalog file. Currently I have 32 of these backup files occupying 4.4GB 🤓
Neither of the sets of backups appear to be managed automatically.0 -
I believe this was asked before on this forum somewhere. The suggestion was to file an "official" enhancement request in the "Contact technical support" section of the website.
If there's enough demand for it, they might consider it for a next release.

I think backup, management of backups, archiving strategies and alike are not the core duty of a raw processor or image catalog software.
I use C1 the backup feature (which is already a concession imo) on occasion (timing depending on the work potentially lost).
I have set up an additional backup procedure with "robocopy.exe" (I am on MS Windows) which mirrors (and overwrites) the backup catalog and adjustments folder in a certain time interval during the day, even if C1 is running (it checks if something has changed first).
I haven't used it much to see if it conflicts with C1 running yet.
I assume that in the MAC world there are tools which can be used too.
