I have the same Problem with I7 and Windows 7 and with Quadcore and Vista with Version 5. Version 4 worke fine. Also in V5 the need longe time to create Proxis. In this time slow down the process wehn you have more as 400-500 Rawfiles.
i write the problem Ole wahlgreen von Pahse One and hope the work on it

Cuong1, what version of Capture One do you use, 5 or 501?

    Alex, Cuong,
Since the i7 Processors are fairly new to the Market (save for the rare Bloomfield) there is little known about them. If you two could create a support case and provide System Profiles we can determine the exact make of the Processor and test for any processor anomalies that could potentially be causing the stutter. With the i7 now showing up on Mac's there is sure to be more on the market shortly. The more we know the more we can accommodate.

The Core I7 processors are now out for more than a year now so fairly new is bit of an overstatement. Nevertheless on my Win7 x64 the Core i7 920 provides a huge performance boost to CO4 and 5, it converts RAW files nealy twice as fast as a comparable Phenom II. I didnt experience any stuttéring so far.

    regards
    Gernot

    Gernot,
The Bloomfield i7's were released in November of 2008 (your 920 was the first) so you are correct that they have been around for over a year. However they aren't exactly ubiquitous in the market so there is still a lack of experience with these units. With the introduction of 1 more i7 processors in 2009 (and two more on the horizon) we're likely to see much more of these and need details. As such, if you are seeing this "stutter" please create a support case and let us know your hardware specifics.

    Gentlemen,

I am also experiencing stuttering on Windows 7 x64 using a Pentium Quad Core (not i7), exactly as described by the first poster to this thread.
Prior to upgrading to Windows 7 x64 I was using Vista 32 bits and the same current version of Capture One (version 5.0.1) and it was working just fine. I have 4GB of RAM installed.

Has anyone experience this behavior with Windows 7 x64?

    Thanks,
    Persio.

    Persio (and others),
We have yet to receive any support cases about this issue. If you could please create support cases we can look into the issue in a more effective manner.

    Persio,
We are looking into it at present. Thank you for taking the time to create the case.
If anyone else comes across this thread and is having the same issue please create a support case and reference this thread. This way we won't miss any of the cases and can lump them together to diagnose/identify the issue.

    Drew,
Having a new system with CO501Pro on Win7 x64 with Core i7 and 6 GB RAM I do not encounter yet any problem like described here. If this happens I'll let you know. If you want me to try anything in particular for troubleshooting please let me know as well.

    Paul,
Which specific processor is your i7?
If, like Gernot, it's the 920 then I wouldn't suspect an issue. However if it is a newer processor it may be beneficial to have a system information file for future comparison.
    Thanks Paul.

Drew, I have an i7 950 running, which is a newer stepping than the first release of 920 and 940. I also have a (blazingly fast) SSD (Intel X25-E 64 GB) in my box. So if it is an disk issue I have to swap disks first. 😉
I can upload a System Information export to you in a support case if you want.

    Paul,
The more the merrier, information never hurt.

Edit* Thanks Paul, I got the specifics.

Tip on how to provide System Information to Phase One support.

In the Search window in the Start menu type "System Information". If your localized version of Windows Vista or 7 is different from English you will get help when you start typing "System" in your language.

Because this will start the program MSINFO32.EXE on your computer, typing "msinfo32" will do whatever language your Windows is to find the program. Click on the result to start the program. Next, in the File menu choose Save (Ctrl+S). Give it a name (your name for example) and send it to PO.

Sounds complicated but is really easy to do.

I tried to create a support case and ran into this error from Support Website. Should I try again?

The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it.

The site was offline earlier today for maintenance purposes (the maintenance message only appears when you requested the main page); I suggest you try again.
