3.6LE Feature Removed: Hot Pixel Removal
3.6 LE is generally good, however with a number of minor issues (see below*). However my biggest concern is that the fantastic hot pixel removal algorithm that was in 3.5 and previous versions is now gone!
This was one of the primary reasons I chose CO as my RAW development software - as I do quite a bit of long exposure and astrophotography.
I can understand why some users may want the option to turn off hot pixel removal, but I can't understand why Phase One would remove this feature completely without any notification.
I ask that PO please bring this capabilty back in a next release, preferably as a checkbox option so those that don't want it don't have to use it.
*Here are some of the other issues I have noted to date:
-300D/10D image size reduced by 12 pixels in short dimension compared to 3.5.2 (from 2052 pixels to 2040, camera jpg is 2048)
-300D/10D Flash WB is missing (There is a work around to set a custom WB for flash)
-*.C1w files are not human readable, like .Work files were, making managing archives and multiple versions of them far more difficult.
-Not an easy way to prevent \"Phase One Media Reader\" from autoloading. Future CO releases should give option at install to have this program installed and/or set to autoload. As it is now users must modify config/registry/uninstall program to stop autoload.

It has not been removed, but with some hardware configurations it does not show up except in the far right side of the image.
It does that on my Laptop which is a HP nx7010 with the ATi9200 Graphic card.
If anyone else is experiancing this, computer spec would be greatly appriciated.

Ulf,
It does it on both my systems
1. IBM T40 laptop ATI MOBILITY RADION 7500 graphics card 768x1024
2. Intel P4 2.0GHz Gigabyte 8iexp MB with Matrox G450 graphics card also at 768x1024. This system has the most current drivers installed for all HW devices including the graphics card.
I have not checked if there are regions where hot pixels are removed, but on both systems there are large regions if not the whole image where they definitely are not.
As this issue is very important to me I am happy to further help and can check tonight as to more details as well as tomorrow provice RAW files and developed outputs from 3.6 and 3.5.2 that show the difference.
I thank you for the evaluation of this issue.
