how to remove a crop
If an image shows a crop (maybe from previous editing) is there one keystroke to remove it without having to drag each border? Often when I set a crop it will also show up unintended in the next image I view. Thanks.

Unless you have set a default preset crop or selected a specific ratio to be used there should be no automatic crop applied EXCEPT for lens correction which is often based on the data the camera provides.
Image rotation will also create a crop - for reasons that are obvious - if it has been used and "crop outside image" is not indicated.
Keystone correction is another area where a crop will automatically be applied - again for obvious reasons.
I can't think of any other auto crop situations off the top of my head but there may be one or two.
HTH.

Cheers, I didn't know that. Much quicker some times!0 -
Thanks for the responses: I don't see any reset button other than undo? ^ doesn't work on my system. And click outside the crop works for any crop I've added but not when some images open with a crop already in place. Those i have to drag manually to reset. 0 -

What you're talking about is lens correction then.0 -
Lens correction?? I will read the chapter in the book on lens correction but I thought it went on "behind the scenes" & not something I would notice as a crop. Only some images are cropped & I only use one lens so wouldn't lens correction be the same for each image? I will do some study - thanks for all the responses. 0 -
Go to an image that appears to have been cropped, and on the lens tab pull the distortion slider down to zero. Does the "crop" disappear? If you are only using one lens and it is a zoom, then you will not see the "crop" resulting from lens correction on all images because it is dependent on focal length, typically being applied more at wider focal lengths.

Yr right Ian - the crop disappeared. I don't see much distortion - is there a way to turn that feature off as a default? 0 -

Click the three dots on the "Lens Correction" tool and select "Disable Default Lens Correction".0 -

Whether you see much distortion probably depends rather on the subject matter. If you take a landscape picture at a wide angle, you may notice nothing. Try taking a (boring) picture of a brick wall head on, again using a wide angle, and check whether you see any unacceptable distortion.

Got it - thanks. 0 -
HI,
No matter what I do, I cannot get the image to process full frame in CAPTURE 1. (In Camera raw I get the full image)
I have DISABLE DEFAULT LENS CORRECTION on in the Lens tab. nothing I do gets rid of the crop. Changing the size in crop ratio almost gets rid of the crop but it doesnt go full. how do I turn this off?
thanks,
MIchael0 -
I don't think disable default lens correction will affect existing images but it should apply to new imports. Have you tried dragging the distortion correction slider down to zero?

You are using a crop ratio?
Does the ratio match the sensor size?
Try Unconstrained mode?
