    Firstly my sympathy or your plight.

    Secondly I will tell you I don't use catalogues but ...

    Is it correct to assume that you original files are referenced and so external to the catalogue?

    If you have the catalogue on an external USB drive are the referenced files also on that drive?

    Is the drive specifically named such that you would expect if to have the same identity on any Windows machine you connected it to?

    I doubt that you have lost your edits but C1 may have decided the ones you connected to were new files and therefore unedited at that point.

    The log files may provide some useful information.

    Also, as you are using Windows 10 and there may still be some interesting "features" to discover in there, I would suggest you create a Support Case with the C1 support team to see what suggestions and guidance they can offer.

    First, locating referenced files can be done both one at a time (you know that already) from the browser, or per folder or disk from the Library tool.

    Second, moving an external disk from one Windows machine to another is risky if you have not gave Everyone (Windows user) full control or change permissions from Explorer. This is a known issue with Windows.

    Third, you did what you better should not have done: sync. The sync command has a different application. Now all your images are imported as new images, hence no adjustments. See my first and second comments to resolve the issue.
