I've not used the Express 9 Sony version, but in Capture One Pro, you use "License Information" option in the Help menu.

This displays the License dialog where you can enter the License code and activate the product.

    OK
I was there before, but it said I had to stop Capture One...
Why should I stop it, I just started it...
But I did, and then pops up a window where I can choose...
Capture One for Sony..., and then I came to the activation.

So Thank you, but what a complicated way to do a simple trick.

Not really so complicated once one is familiar with it.

You are able to manage the activations across 3 machines (for a V9 installation) and the process forces you to choose to deactivate rather than make an assumption that you are administering the the correct machine.

The ability to manage everything on line via internet type connections rather than a continuous network connection is an advantage and to me seems no complicated than for any other applications offering similar usage licences

I had a frustrating afternoon last week while trying to install C1 9 pro. After downloading, I received a brief email which included the keycode, but no mention of what to do with it.
I went to the support site, but just kept going around in circles trying to install it. Each time I opened C1, it would be the C1 8 express for sony edition, which I was currently using. It wasn't until I did much searching that I found where to enter the keycode in the toolbar to activate the new version.

Seems like PhaseOne could have included a simple link or better instructions on how to install.
