I tried that...doesn't work...will not display most recent capture...just stays there....sounds like a bug to me.

Correction: it *does* work when tethered directly..but it doesnt work when using a hot folder...any clue why???

Have you enabled the hot folder feature from the Camera menu?

yep- made sure I did that.... but as you can see there are at least 1 or 2 others having the exact same problem but only on Mac OS, not Win...this points to a bug.

another point...I know hot folders is on because the shot downloads into CO no problem...the problem is simply that it doesn't get selected after it downloads

As you are pretty convinced it is a software related issue, a.k.a. a bug, I assume you are not interested in sharing some details about your setup and workflow here, like version of software, camera, the way you images enter come into your hot folder.

This is default CO6 behavior without the hot folder enabled. Once you have it enabled - Camera menu > Hot Folder Enabled must have a check mark in front of it - the incoming images will display automatically.

Maybe I'm not making myself clear enuff. It is ckecked and I am getting imports. I am NOT getting it selected once imported. I don't know how else to explain it. As noted others are having the exact same problem! Just see other recent thread in this forum

I suggest you open a support case with Phase One.

I had the same issues about 6 months ago, I posted on this forum and logged a support case but I didn't get anywhere so I gave up.
I am using Macs and I was using a Nikon with wireless transfer to "hot folder"
I made sure all my settings were correct and then checked everything again,I toggled and played with all the settings but I was unable to get a new image to automatically show.
I am sure this is an issue with the latest version of CaptureOne as I have previously used wireless with v5 x and it worked fine.
I have just bought a Nikon D4 with WT-5, I will give this a try next week and report back then
    Best wishes Andy

Thank you for confirming its not me Andrew. Good luck on the new Nikon....I was hoping CO could be my savior as the latest version of lightroom (4) is absolutely horrid but without the basic functionality i'm afraid I can't switch.

    cheers

pretty sure capture one wouldn't be the #1 tethered capture program if everyone was suffering from this "bug" as you are.
i have no problems tethering - on many computers/cameras - so I'd say start a detailed support case and they'll help you.

Can you confirm you dont have this issue on Mac OS 10.7.3 with the current version of CO using a hot folder and receiving files wirelessly ( via FTP, eye fi, etc)? Would be helpful if you specific what "many different computers" means as it relates to my specfic issue. thanks

have you filed a support case? for me they have always been quick to respond.
no i haven't used wireless transfer - I use USB with a repeater for really fast and stable transfers.

will open case today..however Andrew indicated he did the same and wasn't successful...

what you say USB 8*and* repeater..I dont understand...so you are tethered with USB but you use a wireless repeater? Or are you referring to another type of repeater...?

always tethered - its as fast as it could be USB with this:

i wish the canon's had FW like they did a long time ago.

I definitely say start a suport case - they are very quick.

i submitted a 'bug' report this morning...but good news....Andrew, I hope you read this... I got it working about 15min ago.... It will only work wirelessly when using the original capture folder...not any other folder I created... Not sure if this is by design or an oversight....but it does work as its supposed to...very quick I might add...via eye fi and auto selects newest photo in view window but ONLY in the Capture sub directory that is the default....strange.....

    thx

    That's very interesting news, great..
It's very nice working without the cables and the new Nikon D4 with the compact WT 5 is a very cool solution.
Thanks for the update, I will certainly try myself and report back.
    Cheers Andy

This is correct. You can apply the session's capture folder feature to any other folder you create and it should work too as Hot Folder. Again, make that folder the Capture folder (right click in Library tool on that folder, select Set as Capture folder).

I was having this same issue last week. I discovered that any intended capture folder needs to be added as a favorite. After I did that, the hot-folder functionality worked as expected, auto selecting the latest image.

Thanks Daniel1111 for the update. I have not tested it but my assumption is that a session folder or session favorites are the triggers or prerequisites for the hot folder function.

Paul- that doesn't work....I can set any folder as a capture folder no problem...but when I do any other folder than the default it no longer auto advances (selects new capture)...It only works if I use the original capture folder....to be clear, its still a hot folder and the photo appears in the viewer, but it will not auto advance.

Yes, you are right. I just tested it again. I thought it worked with any folder set as the capture folder and as a favorite. But as it turns out, it only auto advances if you are using the original "Capture" folder.

OK I think I can bring some finality to this thread....after many hours of trying to figure this out I have it working as intended....simply forget about any 'favorites' and remember to just use the capture sub directory that is created underneath the session... every time you create a session, it automatically creates a 'capture' sub folder... So long as I set my eye-fi capture to that sub folder everything works perfectly... Said another way, you can create any capture sub folder you want where ever you want just be sure its located under the session folder you're working on.

Im a bit frustrated at the lack of clear directions on this but perhaps its just me...but issues solved...FINALLY.. thanks all
