Digital Asset Mgmt C1-Pro9.1 and USER Errors
I'm going to suggest the problem is me just to begin. I've had freezes on loading images into catalogs... or what looked like it when the program stays on the same image in an import for an hour or more. Used the TaskManager first to try to upgrade the resources but to no avail. So killed the program, started again and it ran beautifully.
But I wonder what that may have done? Program seems to not be able to read images in catalogs. In some cases it reads only the most recent images imported into the catalog and that's it.
So believing me to be the cause of all these errors, my solution is to uninstall the program, deleted the problem catalogs, re-install the program, then re-create the catalogs with a variant name, and finally re-import the images. I don't know how else to fix this. I have tried two work-arounds - neither of which worked: 1) import the problem catalog into another where suddenly instead of the 6 images I'd been able to see, I seem to have imported all 2,500 images. Unfortunately this is not where they should be, so 2) I subsequently tried exporting them. This failed on an image which prompted me for a "SKIP" "Don't SKIP", "Cancel" and I chose "SKIP" but it decided to go instead with "Cancel".
There is a need (at least a need in my case) for a button in Digital Asset Management operations that is akin to the RESET button on adjusting images that returns the image to its original state. This would be an UNDO button that would reverse the last multi-image IMAGE RENAME, TAG, IMPORT, EXPORT or whatever. I've suggested this in my open support inquiry and also asked about the sanity of the un-install and re-install proposed solution but I don't know whether there's anyone who understands the issue as I've explained it. Meantime, I'm up a creek without a paddle... wondering.
Any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks for your assistance - even if only to read through the misery of a beginner at C1Pro9 trying to learn Digital Asset Management by doing everything wrong first. Yep... that's me.
