Using a high capacity thumb drive for originals
I realize the read/write speed may not be ideal, but has anyone tried storing their originals (RAW/JPG) files on a high capacity thumb drive? Just thinking of portability and being able to store 500GB of content on a thumb drive would certainly make things easier for my workflow.
Obviously it would be backed up on the regular, and the catalog+software would still reside on the computer hard drive.
Thanks!

Why don't you just try it? You may want to think through how you organize the disk folder tree and your sessions/database(es) as you grow from 1 to 2, 3, 4... drive units. 0 -
So I tried it. Surprisingly it works decently. No major issues, just a little slower than an external hard drive. 0
