Importing Images

I have just started using Capture One Pro for the first time. So far I have just worked with images already stored on my pc. I am now trying to import new images from my camera, I tried doing this by linking the camera to pc via USB. The software recognised my Canon EOS10D SLR was there, but would could not read any images. I then tried using a card reader ( the CF importer window - described in the Phase One \"Get More From RAW\" tutorial did not appear). I opened the file browser and attempted to import the images, but an error appeared and as a result caused a fault on my CF card and loss of images. What am I doing wrong and is there potentially a fault on my card reader.

Tethered linking weather its shooting or transfer is not supported through the appliaction is not supported with the Canon 10D.
If you have a problem transfering both with the CF card importer and transfering manually in Windows Explorer then I would say that you either have a problem with your card reader or the CF card.0 -

Does the CF card importer automatically open when a card reader is installed, or can it be opened manually within the software.0 -
It opens as soon as it finds a new unit with the DCIM folder which is always created on a CF card.
It can be open by clicking on the Phase One tray icon on your computer.0 -

Unfortunately, when I insert a card into my reader nothing happens. I have tried various cards with no success. The information is available via the file browser though.
I am not sure which icon you mean to open the card importer manually.
