Watermark size changed (text)
Hi everyone, this is my first post here in the forum.
I bought CO Pro 8.1.1 (for Sony) and run on a Win 7 64bit 8GB Vaio Laptop.
I have a Sony A6000 and I'm fairly new as a user of CO 8.1 and I like it a lot.
Recently, there appeared a problem with the watermark when I processed a picture.
My signature is written as text in a recipie I use most often.
The watermark in jpg. output file was only about half the normal size.
Everything looked normal on the CO's screen before and after the export, full-size signature.
When I ran the same process again, without changing anything,
then the watermark was of normal size again!
Attaching a link to the picture examples:
I have seen this a few times before but thought I missed something, I documented nothing then.
Has anyone experienced this before and might have some hints what it could be?
Best regards
Nils

Hi,
perhaps not much of help because I'm using watermark only as text. But also the text size can change in relation to the image when I'm choosing a different output recipe with different output size. The size of the watermark as text is fixed (as selected) to points / scale. And for this reason it appears bigger in a reduced size output image file (let's say 1,800px on the long side for web use) than on a full size output image. Did you check whether this may be similar in your case?0 -
Hi, thanks for taking the time to replay.
As I wrote, it's plain text in the watermark. The process recipe is the same, the raw file and the size of jpg output file (2048px) are the same, no change. I just process a second time and then the text return to the size I have set into the recipe, strange ..[quote="NilsO" wrote:

Hi,
I'm not sure if this may help but if I remember correctly I faced a similar problem some years back and the solution was changing the "Size" definition from "Points" to "Pixels" in the field right below the text box of your watermark. I checked it right now and I've set it to Pixels and the font to Arial 72 (if this has also an influence I don't know). Good luck.0 -

The Font size scalability (using pixels) does come into play. Large fonts can, if required, be scaled down. Small fonts cannot be scaled up much if at all but may be useful for deep crops.
However the problem as described and assuming the same recipe with the same sizes set were used for each output run seems to be suggesting some other sort of problem about if, when and how scaling is being applied.
It's not something I can remember experiencing to date.

The only thing I could imagine right now is a type of conflict between Points which is a fixed size and the scaling. If speaking of a font size in points, it should have this size indepentant of the sheet's size. or am I wrong? 0 -
Surely it's about the scaling of the text in any way.
I mean if I drag the corner of a crop area, then follow the watermark with increasing decreasing in size.
I have tried to reproduce the error and "managed" once to process an output jpg
with a small watermark text signature. But I have no good explanation for what happens.
* The picture was already edited and ready since yesterday and it is cropped.
* I started the CO and processed image with the same recipe as before.
* The output .jpg file then had a small watermark!
* I ran the process again (no change) and now it was ok!
To me it seems that there are some things that are common.
First, it's the first image output process after the startup of CO.
Second, the output jpg image is a cropped version of RAW image.
Could it be that CO does not read the scaling of the image, right at the start and it causes a small watermark.
One more example:
This is not really a big problem, at least for me. It works on the second attempt.

Hi,
did you change the "Size" definition from "Points" to "Pixels"? Result?0 -
HI,
Yes, I've tried to set text size to pixels instead of points, but can not simulate the error again so I really do not know if that helps.
Leaving the setting to pixels in the recipe so I can see if there is any difference going forward.
Have a nice weekend,
Nils0
