Move catalogued folders, keep linking how?
I moved a folder which was fully catalogued.
How can I redirect the catalogue linking to the new folder location
without recreating thumbs and keywords, etc.?
Nothing has changed in the folder yet so I'd like to get on this.
I suspect it is in the help files, but I saw no obvious topic.
Thanks !

In Media Pro right-click on the folder and choose the option 'Reset Folder Path'. Then navigate to the new location of the folder. Done

Roelof beat me to it.
Next time move your folder from within Media Pro, if you can, by dragging and dropping it in the Catalog Folders area. Then you don't have to re-link it.0 -

It does sound very plausible so I did a search for moving some filesystem folders within Expression Media.
However, i can not find this option...
I tried to drag from the folder icon and from the folder text but it did not work.
What i am doing wrong?
Or is it a new feature in MediaPro?

That's very strange, Roelof, because I can move catalog folders in Expression Media with no problem (by dragging the folder icon or the name). You can't move the top-level folder (catalog root) to a lower level, or a subfolder to a position higher than the root, but I think you can rearrange subfolders as desired, up or down, as long as you keep them below the root. Which folders are you dragging and to where in the hierarchy? 0 -
Maybe a apple <> windows thing?

I suppose you're right. The original iView MediaPro user's guide says that the software "offers several features that enable you to directly use system file operations," but the ability to move folders is not listed as a feature.0 -
Really, you can't drag and drop in the Organize Panel?? That would be a complete dealbreaker for me!
I just tested it, and am still able to do it (Media Pro, Mac.)
Another way:
Right click on a selection of images
Choose "Transfer to Folder" (or choose it from the Action menu)
Choose "Move files, reset paths and delete originals" <-- ONLY if you really want to do this -- the keywords and metadata follow with the images, so should be fine
Choose your folder and/or create a new folder for the images
Click OK.
eta: I know this also worked in EM.0 -

I cannot drag and drop as well. I think it is a Windows issue.
I generally use Lightroom for the initial folder set up and import anyway.0
