The kind of selective editing that is (new) in CO 5 Pro is dust or spot removal. Future plans not known to me.

Dust removal was available in lightroom in early 2008 and bibble in mid 2008.
Would still be a great asset if capture one would add the ability to add a user selective capability to brush ...lighten.... darken....color..... burn..... dodge...etc a user selected area of a raw photo before converting to jpeg or tiff or dng. It's already a feature in other raw converters, hope c1 considers it an asset to c1.

Yep, you can do a feature request in a support case.

that will be a major code design/writing/testing effort, do they (P1) have enough man power to afford it ? otherwise look what happened w/ Bibble 5... hopefully they (Bibble) may be one day deliver a production version but how many years it took them, including almost a year of public beta whereas production Bibble 4 is not updated to support new cameras for like ~2 (?) years already ? if I 'd need a serious selective editing with a specific shot I 'd rather use another raw converter like Lightzone (which is the king of them all in that specific functionality) or bother myself with Photoshop and layers from several raw conversions done in C1 from that shot.

and if there is a question where P1 should put some spare manpower that will be to make a better documentation/tutorial to expand its user base (albeit it is impossible to fight LR/ACR, but still), work on creating some more styles (look @ ISL's SilkyPix - http://translate.google.com/translate?p ... ry_state0= nice effort on the their behalf), make an option like open source/free rawconverters have to select one of several different demosaicing methods if you want to use something non default for a specific shot (look @ Rawtherapee for example)... the same for NR

WE DON'T NEED THIS CRAP. This is a RAW CONVERTER. Please god just stick to the basics and not turn it into another piece of bloatware.
If you feel the need to selectively edit an image there's this thing you may have heard about....PHOTOSHOP.
