Can someone explain to me the logic of how the keywords in the keyword library are displayed?
The keywords that I've applied are indicated with a grey fill, and the ones are part of the library and not applied have no fill, just a frame.
But some of these non-applied keywords have a white frame and some have an orange frame.
    What does that indicate?

(BTW, I I have a screenshot, but I don't know how to attach it- if there is a way I'd appreciate if someone tells me how)

For screen shots - host it somewhere that allows public links and then post a link here.

    I did read that first.
    What it says is

The Keyword Library displays two types of keyword:

Active (highlighted as solid gray) which indicates the word is applied to the image.
Passive (displayed black with a gray outline) indicating the word is in the library but not applied to the selected image. Passive keywords will remain in the library even if removed from all the images.

So I seem to be seeing a 3rd category, which is passive with an orange outline.

Yes, I have the same orange frame for some keywords, and I don't care 😄

There is a fairly comprehensive video about keyboarding here.

Something Orange - either in backgrond fill or an outline depending on the visual indication complexity needed, usually indicates something that is currently selected - or in the case of the screen shot, multiple selections.

An alternative is "last active". So for example is you change the position of a keyword the one you moved is outlined in orange until you take the next action.

There is one point I noticed in the video Ian3 suggested where the orange outline appears but why is unclear at that point.

Likewise there is a section in the Online Help related to keywords where the illustration thumbnail image has an orange outlined keyword representation as part of a re-ordering process but there is nothing specific mentioned about the coloured outline so I assume it is just "normal" "currently active" indication.

Whether it gets more complex with hierarchical keywords I don't know - but on the basis of a couple of simple checks any hierarchical connection does not seem to be significant.

The only way I can get multiple orange outlines as per the dropbox screen capture is to select the keywords one at a time by Control-Click (Windows 7). Doing so would allow those Kws to then be processed in some way - deleted for example. I assume Mac basically permits the same thing in much the same way.
