    I would suggest that you create a Support Case and send in the Log files for some analysis by the support team.

    Given the severity of the result it sound like a system problem that left something lying around in the working area of the drive that also prevented your backup file from opening. However that is speculation and it would be much better to have the Support Team take a look at the logs.
