Importing Canon Adobe1998-based photos
My Canon 7D saves images shot in the Adobe1998 color space with a file name like this: _MG_1380. With sRGB the name format will be: IMG_1380.
CO7 will not recognize the _MG_1380 format and will not import the files unless I change the underscore to "I." Is there a way to have CO7 recognize Canon Adobe1998 photos without the extra step of renaming files?
Thanks in advance...

Are the images you import still RAW files (with .CR2 extension) or are they in-camera processed JPEG files (with .JPG extension?).
Note that raw files do not have a color space.
The difference in file naming (with an _ underscore for AdobeRGB98 setting in camera) is an EXIF specification which helps people to distinguish JPEG files that have been created in the camera with a the larger then sRGB color space.0 -
Thank you Paul. I am trying to import .CR2 files.
Are you suggesting that Canon's sRGB color space is larger than the regular sRGB color space?
Thanks again, Gordon0 -
Paul, never mind about sRGB question. I get it now! Thanks for RAW file clarification!
Best regards, Gordon0
