Ugh, youre gonna kill me.... C1 Pro Laggy response

Hey a follow up on the follow up. C1 is a little better, but again, i am noticing that its pretty laggy. Now before anyone jumps in, hear me out..... I have c1 pro 4.8.1 on two machines, the one I primarily use is a intel mac pro with 3 internal hard drives. a 500 gig startup disk, and another 500 gig and 1 tb for storage. its a 2.66 chipset machine, and i have 12 gigs of RAM (HAD 20 gigs last week but one of the 4 gig sticks was bad) and when I access my folders in C1, there is a lag still, and switching tabs, or making adjustments, or doing things in the program. processing is fien, fairly wuick over to CS4, but within the program, I still get beach balls often, and its taking some time to display the previews and thumbs, theres almost about a 1-4 second delay to scroll down the previews.

Now heres the part that got me stumped.... the other machine I have the program on is my macbook pro laptop. 2.5 ghz chipset, intel, with only 4 gigs of RAM and a 250 gig hard drive. Same exact applications on both machines, cs4 suite, c1 pro, etc etc all the way down the line. C1 runs fine on the laptop, no waiting, no lag. So what could be the issue? Dos the fact that the desktop has two big drives full of files to access, as well as a 3 TB RAID system attached to it? I mean it shoudl be killing this stuff with faster processors and a butt load more RAM right? Anyone have any suggestions? Still RAM problem? Disk permission issue? Im kind of scratching my head here, and I know this is my third post on this topic, so my apologies for being redundant. I jsut realized I shoudl try side to side tests with both machines and the laptop is winning...big time

Now I also realize this may be an issue with my machine, not the software, but if anyone can offer some help it would be great
