Same issue here. Already is annoying with only 4000 images / catalog.
Have not found any work around yet.

    Hello,
Same issue. I have an Imac 4k with 16GB RAM and 1 TB Fusion Drive. Browsing in a large catalog (the mine contains 15 0000 pictures) is slower with Capture One 10 (than 9) and I have more rainbow spinballs of the death ☹️.
I submited a support case. I have now to send more informations to complete my case. I suggest you to do same thing.

I did receive this bit of advice from tech support with my own cases filed regarding very slow Pro 10 performance on my iMac: "In addition to disabling openCL there is another item you can try which is to delete this folder: Hard Drive (your hard drive name) > Users > Shared > Capture One > Image Core."

I also turned off in Preferences both options for OpenCl.

Thanks Steve. Didn't work for me : Image Core is recreated at the first launch of C1. And it doesn't speed the process of displaying "All images" (30 seconds for 17,000 images with v10, 5 seconds with v9). I am waiting for their answer.....

Many of us have complained about the very slow display of thumbnails and the return of responsiveness after selecting All Images in a catalog. Sometimes this process would take many minutes for a large catalog (mine is over 60,000). With version 12, it decreased to under a minute. Aperture,  could do it in a few seconds. After upgrading to Big Sur and Capture One 13.1.4, it now takes my system about 4 seconds to display All Images and be able to select a thumbnail. This is a vast improvement, although I have no idea of why it improved. I'll submit a request to support staff and see if they are willing to say if they made changes that explain the improvement.
