Have you tried inspecting the image at 100%? In my experience, when you apply something like noise reduction, chromatic aberration correction etc, you don't necessarily see a change in the preview, but at 100% it is definitely changing.

yes nothing seems to work. Going to try a fresh install to see if that fixes it. Im also getting issues with the preview pane not updating at all when I switch between images, only the viewer window seems to update

    Hi,

if you have images processed already in C1V8 you need to update the engine (manually) under the Colour/WB-Tools to make full use of the V9 features. Perhaps it's this which prevents you from (visible) changes.

Is that required only for images previously edited in C18 or is it if you have both versions on your pc?

AFAIK inside V9 it's a way of no return.

But that's not totally true. You can't get back inside V9 once upgraded the engine. However the V8 adjustment settings are kept so if you'd delete (outside C1) the V9 adjustment folders (speaking of Session here), I'd suppose the images will open just fine with the V8 edits (as if there wouldn't have been the engine upgrade) - which should work similary if you keep a complete off site copy of your images and edits in V8 and eventually re-access them in C1V9.

Using C1 since V4 beta though I've never really felt that I wanted to go back to a previous version when a new and supposedly improved version was launched. Then again I'm usually not among the first-day-adopters of a new version.

Edit: Having installed both I'm not sure how the previews are handled of images which are using features exclusive to the newer engine. Perhaps if you want this, it's a good idea to keep the files (images and edits) in separate folders (or drives) according to the version of C1.

Thanks for your help Michael. I still havent solved it but I am tempted to go back with V8 as I am experiencing a few bugs with V9 so ill keep your advice in mind for working between the two
