Shortcuts for Presets?
Hi,
Is there any way to assign a keyboard shortcut to a user preset in C1? I have, for example, a set of noise reduction adjustments which need to be applied to each image in a folder shot above a certain ISO, and it's really annoying to have to apply them manually for each image by navigating with the mouse down the "presets" menu in the toolbar. The ability to assign a shortcut, or at least put them somewhere accessible by a single mouse click (not multiple levels) would be very useful.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Andrew

I don't know about a keyboard shortcut, but you can order the images by ISO (one of the many things you can order them by in the browser). You can then make the adjustment you need to one of the images, easily select all the images above a certain ISO value, and quickly copy it to all the others. You certainly don't need to do it to every single one individually.

Another way to accomplish your noise reduction/high ISO task is to use the Filters tool. You can add the ISO filter to the tool. This allows you to easily filter on ISO value. After that it is select All (Cmd+A), apply preset.
Note that a preset is applied to all selected images in one stroke, so you do have to apply the preset only once to a series of images. There is no need copy/apply the adjustments.
An even more advanced approach then using the Filters tool is to use the Advanced Search feature, and search for certain ISO values or a range of values.0 -
Thanks. These are useful work-arounds, and I'll try them.
However they assume that I want to apply the same preset to every image with the same ISO setting, which is not always the case. Ideally I want to take a look at each image and quickly review it, then apply the increased noise reduction preset if it's required (e.g. I'm going to have to lighten dark areas). A short-cut to apply the preset would be ideal, but it sounds like that's not possible.

Maybe you like to try this.
Assume you have a list of user-made presets. Select an image open the list of presets. Hover your mouse over the presets and evaluate the effect in the preview. Select (by clicking on it) the preset that fits best to your needs.

I have presets that I use that work as a good baseline for the ISO's I tend to use when shooting floodlit sports - I apply them on import and then adjust as required from there, I find it quicker in the long run for what is a fairly predictable shooting situation. 0 -
Andrew,
you can apply your NR-preset to one image. Then in the left pane choose the details tooltab, in the noise reduction tool click on the little double arrow and tick the boxes you want.
Then make sure the copy/paste adjustments cursor (something like this, my OSX is in German) (the rightmost in the cursor tools) shows the down arrow and click on it. The cursor changes to a down arrow.
you can now apply the NR-adjustments to any image by simply clicking on it in the browser while using the arrow keys to navigate through the images.
I have used this method for applying white balance to several non consecutive images in a large album.
