This is annoying
I received an offer of 40% discount to upgrade from C1 9 to v11 tonight.
For those of us who have paid a significant amount to upgrade from v9 to 10, then again to go from 10 to 11, it's not much of a reward for loyalty.

No, it was from 1Styles.pro. However, I don't see how Phase One couldn't have been involved.0 -

For 10%. This is 40%.
FWIW, I think Phase One could do well to drop the price of Capture One and its upgrades. Adobe's lost a lot of support after reneging on maintaining stand-alone LR. People are looking for an alternative and dropping the price of C1 would greatly increase the market from enthusiast photographers - IMHO.0 -
I received the same offer from the Image Alchemist.... 0 -
Image Alchemist voucher is AMBALCHEMIST_MAY and I got "The Provided Voucher Code Is Not Valid For Any Product In the Order". I guess the "MAY" part means it's valid in the month of May. Since we're in June, I guess it's expired now. I tried AMBALCHEMIST_JUNE and it says Promotion Key is Not Valid. AMBALCHEMIST alone still gets the 10% off. 10% is a joke. 0 -

It was a limited time promotion for people still showing V9 as the activated product in the Phase One records.
Are you already on V10? If so it would not be applicable.0 -
Ah ok. 0 -
Hi
I take all the contributions to this thread at face value - i.e. NOT fake news! From this viewpoint Phase has not covered itself in glory, and managed to turn a positive into a negative marketing exercise. And still no explanatory contribution from them?
I recently leapfrogged from v9 to v11. Why? Because this will hopefully keep me on the upgrade track, perhaps skipping v12 next time? Perhaps the trick is to time a planned skipped ugrade to just before the next one is released?
Cap1 still has its uses, but in my opinion we are plateauing out with the capabilities of recent software releases and updates. Old concerns like noise and sharpening are old hat - sorted. But not so colour tones in my experience, partly because there are so many ways of tweaking colours (especially in Cap1) and messing up. So yes, I find that Cap1 is addictive and I can easily lose track of the core colour tones - to the point that other software produces more pleasing results with less effort. Perhaps we need a stripped-down version of Cap1 at a reduced price?

Hi Peter,
Yes, you are right, new or renewed softwares recently appeared on the market (no names...) which give "pleasant results" in less time. I have tried some of them. If I wanted to get the result I expected for such or such picture, they are not suitable, as the "pleasant results" are most often obtained through automatic processes. And when I tried to get the result I wanted, it took me more time to skip the automatic processes than it takes to me to adjust properly my picture.
So, I keep working with C1 just because the possibilities are so extended that I can get the desired result in little time. There are still some bugs to be resolved or improvements needed, but it works exactly as I wish.
Sorry for having given a lapsed offer, I forgot we are already in June.....0 -

The end date of the offer appeared to be 4th June. So Today assuming that means "today" for all time zones probably has a few hours to run.0
