Tethered Capture Problem with Mac
I downloaded a trial of capture one pro 6.2.2 build 50756. I am using a macbook pro using 10.6.8 Snow Leopard. It worked quite well the first couple of times I used Capture Pro One for tethering but the last 3 shoots I've done I will intermittently get a "can not attach camera" pop up message. This seems to happen while I'm shooting and I just have to keep restarting the program, which gets really embarrassing in front of clients in studio. I only have 2 days left on the trail. Is this a known issue? I certainly don't want to pay the price of the program if it's shoddy.
I'm shooting with a Canon EOS 5D I I have tried while plugged in directly to the macbook pro and also through a cine display because I know there has been a USB issue with Mac and Lightroom since 10.6.8, which is the reason I downloaded capture one pro in the first place. But it's useless for me to pay for two programs that aren't compatible with the current or legacy versions of Apple software.

First, I think that the USB issue you refer to is a 10.6.8 issue, which affects either application that uses the tethered connection.
Second, from you post I could not derive whether you use the Canon 5D or 5D mkII. Note that CO6 does not support the first model for tethering (it does support the raw). You need CO5 for that. Tethering might work for the initial 5D, but you can not get support for it. Tip: always check the release notes of the software version at hand against your camera model.0 -
You should also try another USB Cable. I had similar problems working on MacBook Pro early 2010 with 10.6.7 and CO Pro 6.2.2 (also tried 6.2.1). Luckily I did bring a spare USB cable which worked. Different brands and length models act differently. Using extensions might be causing problems as well, but doesn't have to. In my case, the working cable did have an extension and performed well. Using a USB repeater also definitely helps and is highly advised.
