Process Stopped Working

A friend gave me a Nikon raw file (NEF) to see if I could improve it in Capture One (I'm a Canon shooter). Up until this point, my Process Recipe worked fine. When I went to Process his NEF file I got a warning dialogue box....
None of the 0 selected variants can be processed. Only editable variants can be processed. Please select variants that can be processed.
I don't understand this message because I never created any variants. I simply worked on the original. Now, C1 won't process any of my Canon raws either. Any ideas?

    Update.... I trashed my Phase One Preferences and it seems to have cleared up my problem.

    The term "Variant" is referring to the file as viewed in Capture One. Even if there is the one and only image, it is considered a "variant" of the RAW.
