Keep having to regenerate previews

C1 will constantly recalculate results as you add or remove pixels from the data you are working with compared to the display resolution as you zoom.

If you see recalculation of all of the images in the selection being displayed when you open a catalogue or folder it might suggest that the you default Preview image size is not well matched with your default screen resolution and so all previews are being recalculated (bigger or smaller) to make them available for instant viewing.

If the Previews were made using a settings in the Process Recipe to the settings current highlighted that can also result in recalculation activity.

This is a short list of the more common reasons for recalculation being performed en masse but you will find C1 recalculating a lot from the base data as you work with it.

If the issue is more one of the results than the speed of the recalculation then you might want to try an experiment to set the use of OpenCL to NEVER in the Preferences settings to see if that changes anything.

There were some early issues reported with NVidia driver update conflicts for Win 10 but I think they have been resolved and would likely have been 'fixed' on you machine if you are allowing the auto updates. (Assuming you would need the NVidia driver - you might not.)

    HTH.

    I have C1 8.3.

I have to regenerate previews constantly. Sometimes when I zoom in or use the loupe I get a super pixelated image. Other times I get a weird color pattern.

    Any ideas?

This could happen if you have set the preview file size to a size to small to fit your monitor, like 1024px or less. Select a higher value in the Preferences, Image tab and regenerate the previews (after selecting images) from the File menu.
