Composition Mode

Can anyone please tell me how to get the "Composition Mode" to work! I have added the tool to my tool bar & activate the Composition mode, however, the software keeps loading a new image every time I take a shot in image browser.I thought the whole idea of it was that the software wouldn't create a new image until I deactivate the mode.

    Are you saying it is writing every image to disk rather than placing the last shot image used for setting the composition with the next one into memory only?

    I checked composition mode in version 8.3. It works fine. What I will add is that the image that you might have made before you activated comp mode will remain. You will have to delete it manually. You should see two rows of circles with a diagonal line running through it indicating comp mode is active. The next image made will show up but successive image will over wright.

    Yes images are being written to disk!!!! I have connected my digital back to someone else's computer running on the same OS system & it worked fine. Maybe there is something in preferences that I need to set?

    I am using a Aptus65 with capture8.3 on OS10.10.3

    Strange..... earlier this morning the composition mode wasn't working! Now all of a sudden it has decided to work!

    I had another similar experience.
    Turned out the battery charge in the camera was low and it was not working well.

    When I started again with a fully charged camera bat all was fine.
