Is it an Intel-based iMac or PPC-based (G4/G5)? What version of OS X are you running on it?

THe iMac is about 9 months old (intel based 24" iMac extreme). I was running Leopard and just upgraded to Snow Leopard yesterday and still runs the same slow speed.

Some tips which you can try individually or combined:
    - update to latest release of CO4 (4.8.3 is latest) which I advise for Snow Leopard by the way
    - remove preference file (com.phaseone.captureone.plist)
    - remove session file or create a new session if you run Pro/DB; copy images to new session, don't copy cache files
    - create another user and run CO4 from that user account

another simple thing to do is to logout and log back in... this will clean up a lot of system resources/processes that are hanging around too much
