C1 catalogue: 6500 images generates 26,000 previews

I have generated a catalogue (referenced) for the first time in C1, and as it says above, although its only 6500 images, its still chuntering away generating previews, currently just under 26,000 and climbing, with 2 minutes to go (but its been 2 minutes to go for about 2 hrs now).

The catalogue is 6gb, while in Media pro SE, with the same set of photographs and same preview size it was 2gb.

Does anyone understand why C1 is generating so many previews.

    I guess this must be something for tech support.

    I will probably raise it with them, but I wasn't sure it was a problem, just curious as to why it was happening.
