Proxy strategy for laptop to desktop
My PC laptop is 1080p and my PC desktop has dual 4k monitors. I've determined the editing area of C1 on the desktop is 2787x1859. I've read that my proxy file should be slightly larger, so I set it to 2880. So far, so good.... but...
I work in sessions (had a bad experience with catalogs) and really much prefer it especially for porting from laptop to desktop or vice versa. The issue is that the laptop proxy size is not 2880 and that would be MUCH larger than is needed on the laptop.
Should I set it to the desktop size on the laptop so the proxies are 'right' when I copy them over to the desktop OR should I match the proxies to the laptop and just toss the proxies folder when I copy the session folder over?

You could start (presumably on the laptop) with previews set to be the appropriate size for that device. On the desktop you can set the preview size to the appropriate value for that device. When you have moved a bunch of images onto the desktop, you could just select them all (just the newly imported ones) and choose to regenerate previews. They will be regenerated at the size you have set for the desktop.

Thanks. I didn't think to select and check the right click menu. Sure enough, there is an option to do that. I was looking on the regular menus. 0
