I always thought C1 was better than DPP untill now.
After using C1 V4 for a while and being very happy with it i came across this problem today.
Shot sRAW. Tried to correct WB by clicking on the same part of the image.
First is DPP and second is V4.
I just cant get rid of the blotches in C1.
I have also noticed banding in ISO1600 images for the first time in C1. Again, DPP is fine.
while i can understand DPP being better i would have expected more from C1.

It is worth taking the trouble to post a support case on issues of this kind. You can attach the original RAW file and the conversion to the support case, and my experience so far is that the response you will get will be timely and informed. 0 -
How do you know you clicked the exact same part of the image? It seems that each is setting a different WB, and in C1 case a WB that pushes parts of image out of correction window.

Its important to note here that Capture One does not support sRAW camera files.

Ok, more or less the same point but the fact is that i got the same result from clicking all over the body area.
JRA.
what do you mean sRAW isnt supported? how can i open the files if its not supported?
Ive been using sRAW for ages with C1 v4 without problems.
Do you mean its not fully supported? The release notes say its not but ive had no problems up until this image.

It's the same with Raw Therapee (for example): sRAWS open just fine, but they don't present or convert properly (unless you want black and white images...)Ive been using sRAW for ages with C1 v4 without problems.
Me too - I guess we've just been lucky.0 -

yeah. I hadn't realised sRAW wasn't supported. I know i cant open them in C1 V3.7.8 so assumed they were ok in V4.
Oh well. I guess that explains why the colours are off.

Fair enough, but as the RAW Support page on the website states that C1 v4supports RAW files from cameras with sRAW capabilities, should you not make it clear, on the website, in the documentation and in the Release Notes, that, in your vocabulary, RAW does not include sRAW?0 -

Agreed but in PO's defence they do state that sRAW from Canon Camera's are not supported. Its in the update notes.
It should be made clearer though. I still have only the above file and one with banding giving me problems though and will continue to use V4 with sRAW unless its a very crucial shoot (and we still have DPP to get us out of this mess).

Got it now. Thank you. It's listed as a 'known issue', and not anywhere near the list of RAW formats supported. Which rather bears out your (and my) more general point about the need to make things clearer to actual and potential customers.0 -
What software is DPP?
Thanks.0 -
