Have you tried to remove the CF card (or format it if you don't want to remove it) before connecting?

    Paul,

I never have a CF card in the camera when shooting tethered because I find it slows down the image capture. Any other ideas? I know that the Canon tethering driver isn't the best, but I hesitate to blame it on the camera body because I haven't met another 1Ds Mark II owner that shares the same problem.

I cant say for sure ( I havent used a 1ds2 with V5 recently) but with our 1ds3 and 5d2's we need to run 10.5.8 and CO5.0.2 for stable tethering. Pity I found this out after i bought a couple MBP i7's and the hexcore tower ☹️ Now treating my 8core 3ghz and core2duo laptop's with kidd gloves until this is fixed.....
