C1 fails to start.

I clicked on the C1 icon to start the programme, and all I get is the programme telling me something like Capture One Crash Report, Please help us by submitting a crash report. I fill in the form, and try to send it, but it simply tells me, "Configuration system failed to initialize". So at the moment, I am left with a programme that refuses to load.
Any kind soul any ideas? I can't really uninstall and reinstall as I guess I hit the problem of having had my last update.☹️
