    Hello Alex,

I'm not sure but I mean thats not possible with C1.
I'm importing my images always with my own Script to my external HD or if I'm at home to my NAS. My script (Mac - AppleScript and Windows - PowerShell)) create a directory structure Jear/Monts/Day

Installed Lightroom trial and tried Import feature and it can create folders like 2011-08-06 and so one (no subfolders) based on photos dates, not import date.

I can do that. Send me please a PM with your Mail-Address. I can send you my PowerShell Script but first in the 2-nd Jan Week. I'm not at home and only with my MacBook Pro

Is it a bug? A feature? Where to report/ask officially?
    Thank you

Creating folders by image date gets my vote also. I have to import pics using Canon's software to save them by file date.

Is there an SDK for CO?
a friend of mine made me application for this, based on exiftools. Few parameters about output structure were added
Let me test it and i will share

I don't use CO to import images from my camera. I use Downloader Pro which uses a year and month filing system. With this you can also add info like date to the image name.
