New user, go with C1 Pro 3.7.8 or 4?
Is there any difference in the quality of conversions or just the interface?
Currently a Lightroom user, but have switched from Nikon D2xs to Canon 1Ds Mark III. I find the C1 workflow confusing and the interface very windows-like (in other words crappy), but in the interest of getting the best file I'm trying C1.

Hi Curtd,
It is certainly not uncommon for new users that they have to get used to the Capture One (CO) workflow and interface.
With regard to output quality, I would go for CO4. I use it with 1Ds III and other cameras myself.
If you are a new user I think it is better to get used to CO4 (and not CO3.x) since Phase One is clear that this version is their road ahead, dropping CO3.x in the near future. Give CO4 a try (30 days free). Buy CO4 if you are happy with it and determine later whether you need CO4 Pro.

I as a Pro User can´t recomand to use the Light Version C1- 4.
Lots of really important stuff for professionals is missing.
I tried it and i would not bother switching up to 4 Pro.
On the other side - C1 Pro 3.7.x will look totally different to Pro 4..
Two guys - two opinions - sorry 😊0
