C1 Pro 5.1.2 bugs
Tonight I created another support case with the following comments:
Are any other users have the issues described below?
I have been using C1 Pro since version 1.0. I am becoming increasingly frustrated with the bugs that are in version 5.1.1 and now in 5.1.2 that have been identified as a problem by Phase One because you have told me these are problems that Phase One had identified and are working to fix.
Case 75066 - Batch rename error were certain files are not renamed.
Case 74656 - CF card cannot be stopped and ejected unless C1 is completely closed down.
Case 71156 - Delete Error where a file is not deleted when Ctrl-Del, Del or Right Click and Delete is selected. This is especially troublesome - I edited a wedding 2 days ago with 800 images. I received Delete Errors repeatedly when trying to delete images. This really slows down the editing process.
Jakub recently told me that these issues do not exist in Vista and Windows 7 and that C1 Pro version 5 was not really written for XP. He questioned why I didn't upgrade to Windows 7. Vista has been acknowledged as not a very good OS and I am waiting for the dust to settle before I consider formatting my hard drive and installing Windows 7 plus all of my software which is a big job. I am sure there are thousands of C1 users that are still using XP.
I have been extremely happy with the responsiveness of Phase One support when I have sent in a support case but I would really like to know when the 3 issues in the above support cases are going to be fixed especially the Delete Error issue. I thought for sure it would be fixed in 5.1.2 but I am still having problems with C1 installed on two different PC's.
Thanks!
Bill

I'm running 5.1.2 under XP on my laptop and can't say I've noticed any problem deleting files with the Del key?

i saw the delete error with v5 and it drove me nuts. I got to the point where I would give any image a 1 star I wanted to delete then would sort by stars, select the ones to delete and then right click and select delete. This would delete the files without the errors.
I have recently upgraded my PC, from an AMD Win XP box to an Intel Win7 box and no longer see the problem. I put in a support case months ago, was told they found the problem but don't know if they ever fixed it. I use the same version as i did when i saw the error so either the Intel or Win 7 fixed my problem.0 -

Same here - no problems on my desktop machine.0 -
P! support has told me that these issues I mention should be fixed in 5.2 that will be released in about 8 weeks. Hopefully that is true. 0
