    Besides that the iPad 2 gives you a better performance, moving away from an ad-hoc connection would be my first priority. You can optimize your workflow and performance by using a wireless access point that supports 802.11n connections (Apple's latest Airport Extreme devices have a good reputation).

    Only a few images are cached on the iPad. As a result your Mac with Capture One (with the Capture Pilot tool enabled) are rendering the images in real-time when you browse images in Capture Pilot on the iPad. The more power you have in your Mac, the faster Capture Pilot responds.
